We are currently in the process of recruiting volunteers to sit on our Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of four officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) and six Board Members, focusing on fundraising, policy development, advocacy, programming and public/community relations among other things.

We are looking for passionate, dedicated individuals who agree with Alameda Theatre Company’s mandate and are committed to promoting the artistic vision of the company. We value Equality, Respect, Solidarity, Responsibility and Integrity in all of our work and look for the same in our potential board members.

Applicants must possess a good work ethic and should be willing to commit to attending bi-monthly board/committee meetings, read and respond to email communications and attend community events. All board members must sit on a least one committee (Fundraising, Events, Communications, Finance etc.)

 

Previous board experience and working with not-for-profit arts based organizations is an asset. Applicants must make a two-year commitment in their role as a director on the board.

We are hoping to recruit a diverse range of members having a variety of skills and expertise in accounting/finance, business management, project management, event management, advocacy, legal matters, public relations & communications writing/editorial, community research & development and fundraising.

In our first year, the role of our Board of Directors is to provide strategic direction and governance to the organization, determine innovative ways to promote and enhance the organizational profile and visibility in Canada and support the Alameda Theatre staff.
