OAC Theatre Creator's Reserve 2011-12
Alameda Theatre Company is currently accepting submissions for the OAC Theatre Creator's Reserve. We feel this is an excellent incentive (and opportunity) to inspire artists to write first drafts, final drafts, ideas, and experiment in order to create a body of work that is professional, producible and relevant to Canadian theatre.
Deadline for submissions is January 15, 2012 @ 5:00pm
What is it?
Theatre Creator's Reserve is a program that assists Ontario-based professional theatre creators and informal collectives of individual creators by funding them in the creation of new work. Submissions to the program are assessed by theatre companies that act as third-party recommenders for the Ontario Arts Council (OAC). Recommenders receive applications directly from creators and forward grant recommendations to the OAC for authorization and payment.
Who is chosen?
A jury made up of the Artistic Director and invited members of the artistic community will evaluate the proposals submitted. Amounts will be determined based on the number of applications received, which applications fall within our mandate and meet our artistic and development standards. Projects will be chosen for merit, past experience, writing sample, creativity, and professionalism. We will also make sure that applicants with little or no experience receive fair consideration for development.
