This year we celebrate Mexico, in honour of our first playwright-in-residence Amaranta Leyva, whose play The Intruder, will have its world premiere in 2012. (You can catch a sneak preview of the work-in-progress at the 2010 De Colores Festival of New Works! )

Central features of this year's peña will include an array of Mexican Canadian artists and musicians, a Mariachi band, a silent auction, a piñata, prizes, a Tequila tasting, great authentic Mexican fare and much more!

Tickets:
$60/ticket ($30 charitable tax receipt)
$550/table of 10 ($250 charitable tax receipt)

Funds raised at the peña will go directly to the development of excellent new work by Canadian Latin American playwrights through our De Colores Festival of New Works, to inaugurate our youth program, Nueva Voz: A Latin American Youth Theatre Initiative and to enable Alameda to continue producing landmark and groundbreaking plays by Canadian Latin Americans.

This is a licensed event and requires age appropriate ID to consume alcoholic beverages.
